SILVAN STRAUSS TRIO
Silvan Strauss - Drums
Giorgi Kiknadze - Bass
Adrian Hanack - Sax
Producer, drummer and Hamburg Jazz Prize winner Silvan Strauss has established himself as one of the most exciting German artists navigating the space between jazz, beat driven production and contemporary improvisation. His debut LP “FACING” (via KFR 2021) introduced a distinctive blend of Madlib inspired grooves and hazy modern jazz, positioning him as a forward thinking voice within and far beyond the German jazz landscape. Performances at major festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2022, a series of viral drum improvisations on Instagram and TikTok, and public praise from artists like Pete Rock and Queen Latifah further elevated his international profile.
Strauss released his second studio album FLUKIN’ on 31 January 2025. Recorded over three days at Hamburg’s renowned Clouds Hill Studio, the album marks his move away from programmed structures toward the immediacy of live performance. Working with collaborators including Farhot, Alex Eckert, SALOMEA, Oscar #Worldpeace, Joe Armon Jones, Mehdi Qamoum and Giorgi Kiknadze, he created a body of work rooted in spontaneity, interaction and real time musical communication. Named after the word “fluke,” the album embraces the unexpected moments of synchronicity that emerge in improvisation. The ten track LP aligns with the sonic worlds of Cautious Clay, Terrace Martin and Hiatus Kaiyote while retaining Strauss’ unmistakably grounded rhythmic identity.
On 19 September 2025, Strauss released Live at Clouds Hill, a fully separate live in studio album recorded at Hamburg’s renowned Clouds Hill Studio. Capturing raw, immediate performances and spontaneous reinterpretations, the record presents Strauss in an unfiltered, direct musical environment
and highlights a different facet of his artistry. To accompany this release, Strauss is preparing a dedicated vinyl edition, set to arrive in December 2025, offering an expanded physical snapshot of the project’s atmosphere and energy.
Following the album release, Strauss embarked on a series of concerts in Chile in autumn 2025, marking his first performances in South America. The shows were met with exceptional enthusiasm, with audiences responding strongly to his energetic approach. These concerts highlighted the international resonance of the FLUKIN’ sound and reinforced Strauss’ commitment to real time musical exploration.
